Adclear launches its MCP, bringing marketing compliance into Claude, ChatGPT and in-house AI tools

A blurry image of office workers with the title of this blog in bold on top - "AI in Compliance Review: Signal vs Hype"

LONDON, 27 October 2026. Adclear, the marketing compliance platform used by Lloyds Banking Group, Monzo, Allica Bank, PensionBee and Blockchain.com, has launched the Adclear MCP, a connector that lets marketing and compliance teams work with Adclear from inside the AI assistants they already use.

‍

With the MCP connected, a marketer can upload a promotion, read what compliance said about it, pre-check draft copy and pull approval numbers from Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP-compatible tool, including AI assistants that firms build in-house. Every action runs under the user's own Adclear permissions and is recorded in the same audit trail as work done in the app.

‍

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard AI assistants use to connect to other software. It lets an assistant like Claude read from and act in a tool on a user's behalf, with that user's permission.

‍

"Marketers at regulated firms were already doing this. They'd export their data from Adclear, paste it into whichever AI tool their company allows and get their answers there. That workflow made sense to them. It also left the compliance record somewhere nobody was keeping it. The MCP gives teams the same speed with the record kept in Adclear, next to the rules and the reviewers. Compliance should answer wherever the work is happening."

‍

Why marketing teams asked for an Adclear MCP

The request came from customers. During the beta, a marketing lead at a global crypto exchange walked us through his reporting routine: export the data from Adclear, paste it into Claude, ask his questions. His marketing teams wanted to upload campaigns, check comments and check analytics in one place, and that place was their AI assistant.

‍

One consumer fintech put it more bluntly: its marketing team was never going to work inside a compliance tool.

‍

Compliance leads have the mirror-image problem. A lot of their day goes on answering the same status questions in Slack. Has this been approved? What did compliance say? How many went through last month?

‍

The MCP answers those questions where they get asked.

‍

In the first live customer demo, the exchange's team asked Claude what had gone through review the previous week. It returned nine promotions with their statuses, four of them approved. The team then uploaded a new promotion for review from the same chat.

‍

A UK bank in the beta is setting it up to pull every promotion approved in a given month for one of its entities, replacing a report the team currently builds by hand in a spreadsheet.

‍

What teams can do with the Adclear MCP

The MCP gives the assistant access to Adclear's own operations. A user can:

‍

  • Find promotions by status, date or deadline, including saved views
  • Read reviewer comments on any promotion, the rule each comment cites, and its version history
  • Search their organisation's approved claims and disclaimers
  • Upload a promotion from a public link or a file, add a new version and submit it for review
  • Pre-check draft copy or a draft file with an Adclear AI review before it reaches a reviewer
  • Pull dashboard metrics, such as approval volumes and first-time approval rates
  • Archive and restore promotions

‍

In practice, requests look like this:

‍

  • "What went through review last week, and what's still waiting?"
  • "Summarise the compliance comments on the October savings campaign and draft a V2 that addresses them."
  • "Pre-check this email copy before I send it to compliance."
  • "How many promotions did we approve in September, broken down by approver?"
  • "Find our approved disclaimer for savings promotions."

‍

Approvals stay with people

The assistant acts as the signed-in user. It can see and do only what that person can in the Adclear app, and tools their role can't use never appear. Users sign in on Adclear's own page, so the assistant never sees a password.

‍

Every change made through the MCP is recorded under the user's name, exactly as if they'd made it in the app. Adclear tells the assistant to ask before it takes any write action, and nothing goes to reviewers until the user asks for it to be submitted.

‍

Pre-checks are for drafts. They run Adclear's AI review on copy or a file without creating a promotion or notifying anyone.

‍

Approval decisions stay with named reviewers in Adclear. The MCP uploads, reads and reports.

‍

Availability

The Adclear MCP is available now to Adclear customers. It works with Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP-compatible clients. Admins can remove it for their whole organisation from their assistant's connector settings at any time.

‍

The full list of tools and the permissions each one needs is in the Adclear MCP documentation. Firms that aren't on Adclear yet can book a demo to see it running.

‍

Frequently asked questions

‍What is an MCP?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to other software. A company that publishes an MCP lets assistants like Claude and ChatGPT use its product on a user's behalf, within that user's permissions.

‍

Which AI assistants does the Adclear MCP work with?

Claude and ChatGPT, plus any assistant that supports the Model Context Protocol. That includes internal AI tools that firms build for their own teams.

‍

Can the AI approve promotions?

No. Through the MCP, an assistant can upload, pre-check, read and report. Approval decisions are made by named reviewers in Adclear and recorded in the audit trail.

‍

Who can use it?

Any Adclear user with workspace access, within the limits of their role. External reviewers and influencers can't use MCP tools.

‍

Does the MCP cost extra?

Pre-checks run through the MCP count towards your plan's usage, the same as reviews in the app. Your account manager can confirm what your plan includes.

‍

Is our data secure?

The MCP uses your existing Adclear sign-in, roles and permissions, and every change is logged under the user who made it. Security teams can review every tool and the permission it requires in the documentation, and read more about how Adclear handles data on our security page.
