Adclear launches compliance training for marketing teams at regulated financial firms

LONDON, 7 September 2026. Adclear, the marketing compliance platform used by Monzo, Allica Bank, Blockchain.com and Marshmallow, has launched compliance training for marketing teams at regulated financial services firms.

The training is open to any regulated firm, not only Adclear customers.

The programme is a 90-minute interactive session, delivered in person or remotely, covering the financial promotions rules marketers most often trip over.

Each session is built around the client's own products and internal approval process rather than a generic curriculum, so marketers leave knowing which content they can clear themselves and which needs compliance review.

The first session under the new programme was delivered by co-founder Joe Jordan at Allica Bank's team offsite, where much of the discussion centred on claims and competitor comparisons, particularly what a firm can say when two products share features but aren't directly equivalent.

"Most marketers at regulated firms learned the rules one rejected draft at a time. Nobody sat them down and explained what a financial promotion actually is, or where the line sits on a comparison claim. When you do, the quality of what reaches compliance goes up and the volume of things that never needed to go there goes down. Allica's team asked sharper questions than most compliance teams I've met, and that's the point. Marketers want to get this right."

Why financial promotions training for marketers, and why now

Marketing teams at fintechs and challenger banks have grown fast. Compliance teams have not grown at the same rate.

The result at most firms is a review queue where a large share of the work is content a marketer could have cleared in seconds with the right grounding, sitting alongside the difficult cases that need a compliance officer's time.

Adclear's own data from The State of Financial Promotions H1 2026 puts the gap in numbers. Across 44,418 promotions reviewed, firms using Adclear reached an 88% first-time approval rate against a 32% industry benchmark.

Training closes the same gap from the other side. Fewer avoidable rejections, faster approvals, and compliance time spent where it matters.

What Adclear's marketing compliance training covers

The session runs in three parts.

The rules. What constitutes a financial promotion under the FCA regime, the boundary between regulated and unregulated content, and the Consumer Duty areas regulators are focused on now.

Claims and evidence. Claims and substantiation, awards, endorsements and trust marks, and product-specific guidance for the firm's own range. This includes how to store claims evidence, link it to live content, and manage expiry so nothing runs on out-of-date substantiation.

Process and judgement. Which content marketing can reasonably sign off, which must go to compliance, and how to escalate when it isn't obvious. The session closes with interactive scenarios drawn from the client's market so attendees test their judgement before it counts.

Format

  • 90 minutes, interactive, in person or remote
  • Content tailored to the firm's products, approval process and compliance priorities
  • Training materials licensed to the firm for onboarding new joiners
  • CPD certificates for every attendee

Who it is for

Marketing and growth teams at regulated financial services firms, especially those that have scaled without formal compliance training, or where the compliance team regularly reviews work marketers could handle themselves.

You do not need to be an Adclear customer to book.

Firms can book a session or request details at adclear.ai/compliance-training.
