Allica Bank partners with Adclear on compliance engineering

Allica Bank, the bank for established SMEs, has partnered with Adclear to bring its financial promotions policies, product disclaimers and approval rules into one centrally governed system. The partnership combines AI-powered compliance checks with bespoke training to help Allica’s marketing team move through approvals faster and with greater confidence.

‍

Together, the teams are putting an approach Adclear calls “compliance engineering” into practice: capturing a firm’s regulatory knowledge and building it into the systems and workflows people use every day.

‍

A shared foundation for marketing approvals

As Allica’s marketing team grew, its compliance processes needed to grow with it. Financial promotion rules, product disclaimers and approval policies had been designed for a much smaller team, while marketing, legal, compliance and product teams were working in silos.

‍

Important knowledge was spread across documents, spreadsheets and individual experience. With resource constraints across teams and no single source of truth, bringing that knowledge together became a priority.

‍

Adclear worked with Allica’s compliance and legal teams to consolidate the bank’s policies, disclaimers and financial promotion rules into one central system. This gives teams a common foundation for preparing content, checking requirements and making approval decisions.

‍

Georgie Burks, Head of Marketing at Allica Bank, said:

"As we've scaled, our compliance knowledge has ended up living in different places - some in documents, some in spreadsheets, a lot of it just in people's heads. Adclear helped us bring all of that together into one place we can actually trust, and then used it to train our marketing team. We are now working from a much stronger foundation, and are already seeing Adclear’s AI layer transforming how quickly and confidently we can move on marketing approvals and compliance.”

‍

Bringing AI checks into the marketing workflow

That central policy layer now powers Allica’s AI-powered approvals process. The bank has integrated Adclear’s AI financial promotions compliance checks into its marketing workflow, cutting review times and giving compliance teams a clear, consistent audit trail for every piece of content published.

‍

The approach makes the bank’s own compliance knowledge available within the approval process. Marketing and compliance teams can work from the same policies and requirements, with a record of how content has been reviewed.

‍

Training built around Allica’s own marketing

Alongside the technology, Adclear has launched bespoke compliance training for Allica’s marketing team.

‍

The sessions draw on the bank’s own products, claims and past approval decisions, connecting compliance requirements with the content marketers create. They help the team understand which lower-risk content can be self-approved and which needs a second pair of eyes.

‍

Combining that practical training with a shared policy system gives marketers a stronger basis for decisions throughout the campaign process.

‍

Putting compliance engineering into practice

For Adclear, the partnership brings together the foundations, skills and technology needed to support a growing marketing operation.

‍

Joe Jordan, co-founder at Adclear, said:

“The initiatives we’re running with Allica reflect a shift we’re driving across the sector: turning compliance from a manual, case-by-case check, to a body of encoded policy that both AI and humans can work from.
We call this “compliance engineering". Rather than every promotion depending on a reviewer's individual interpretation of the rules, firms can encode that knowledge once, so it can govern thousands of future decisions.
This model turns compliance into a growth engine. The same regulatory knowledge that used to slow marketing down can now be built into systems that enable teams to move faster and more confidently.
It’s been a pleasure to work with Allica to transform their marketing compliance capabilities from the ground up: laying the foundations, building the team’s skills, and deploying our technology for faster, safer and more reliable checks.”

Allica joins financial services teams using Adclear, including Monzo, Lloyds Banking Group, PensionBee and IG Group.
