The UK's crypto regulatory regime has moved firmly from debate towards implementation.
The FCA's authorisation gateway opens on 30 September 2026, giving firms that want to undertake newly regulated cryptoasset activities a defined route towards authorisation ahead of the new regime coming into force in October 2027. For crypto businesses operating in the UK, the work required to prepare for that transition is already well underway.
